Its a good lock to keep younger children from going outside. I have a pond and this lock prevents the children from slipping outside without my knowledge. Bought 3 of them and they are wonderful for this reason alone.

I'll give you credit, at least you're allowing for real testimonials instead of the usual positive promo stuff you see on company web sites. I'm guessing this is intended to deter the typical burglar from breaking in, instead of someone wanting to knock down the door. Most burglars aren't going to spend the time or make the kind of noise required to get through this type of system - certainly in a residential neighborhood. You could do with improving your web site though. First, please make the video file quicker to download. I've got a new PC and cable modem and it took ages to view. Second, create videos to see how to install - particularly if you have a tight seal between the door and frame. Third, in terms of promo videos, show us how burglars typically get in and how your two systems can prevent that.

I gotta agree that hammer is not the same as a good solid kick, but if the intruder is planning on a forcefully entry then they will most likely be armed and come in through the window or patio door, and the only thing that can stop them is a shotgun. It is unlikely a thief would want to break in forcefully unless the target lives in a really rural area where neighbors live very far apart. For most thieves that want to break in quietly by picking the lock for a quick steal this door guardian should work pretty well.

I would sure like to see more proof than a small hand held hammer. Plus the video you provide doesn't show what is happening on the other side of the door when the door is being hammered. I would like to see what is happening with the guardian. What happens if a person kicks in the door? I am not sure 3 long screw will hold up plus a door jamb could rip away. How sure are you about the security of this device?

I purchased the door guardian patio sliding door lock from Home Depot here in Michigan. It took me a full 10 minutes to install it! It was more than E-Z to install and the lock looks great too. It sure holds the door in place as well, when i tried to open it with just the doorguardian locked, and not even the regular lock on the door was locked. It will sure deter the forced entry if ever attempted. I'm so glad i purchased it. You should do t.v ads for it!!!! It will be a big seller once people hear about it.

I purchased 3 units form the Homedepot in Canada. It is a great device to prevent my child form opening the door from inside. I am pretty sure it will be strong enough from outside too if the extra long screws can be used. My problem was the screws provided are way too long and I only managed to put one in (out of 6 for 3 locks) without damaging the screw's head with the power drill. I also tried using the drill bit for pilot hole but the drill is way too short compared to the screw. I ended up using only the short screws provided. Please either provide a shorter screw or make the screw tougher.
